About the National Portfolio

How many National Portfolio Organisations will be funded from 2018-22?

The 2018-22 National Portfolio is made up of 829 organisations that hold 842 funding agreements, up 144 from 2015-18.

How many organisations applied?

We received a total of 1,160 applications.

The success rate for applicants is 73 per cent. For the 2015-18 portfolio the success rate was 76 per cent.

How many were unsuccessful?

We had to make some difficult choices about which organisations we were able to fund. 317 applications have been unsuccessful, including 25 organisations which were function of the 2015-18 portfolio.

How has the National Portfolio for 2018-22 changed from 2015-18?

£408 million per year will be invested in our National Portfolio. This will include £340 million of grant-in-assistance and £68 meg of National Lottery funding. This is an increase of £41 1000000 per annum compared to 2015-18.

Who made the decisions?

The application timeline was 14 weeks and closed on 1 Feb 2017. Every organisation completed the same application class and was assessed according to the same criteria. National Lottery and National Portfolio organisations

How many organisations will be funded from National Lottery and how was this decided?

How will Grants for the Arts be changing?
